The company introduces the Schwinn® 460 Variable Stride Elliptical Machine. Uniquely designed for home use, the Schwinn 460 Elliptical incorporates three foot-driven motions -- stepping, walking, and running -- with an integrated handlebar system to engage upper- and lower-body muscles.

Nautilus recognized as Official Fitness Equipment Supplier to the Dallas Mavericks. An 11- piece assortment of Nautilus equipment was installed at the American Airlines Center, the arena the Mavericks call home. "We use a high intensity training program to get our players ready for the season, and utilizing quality equipment is extremely important to that process," said Head Coach Rick Carlisle. "As our partner, Nautilus has provided the Mavs with the best fitness equipment in the business."

The Phoenix Suns' training facility is among the first all-Nautilus facilities in the region. A 30-piece custom-designed assortment includes eight cardio units, including elliptical, treadmills along with more than 20 circuit strength and free-weight products.

"For 30 years Nautilus has been synonymous with quality, and they've proved it once again with the new Nautilus® XPLOAD™ Athletic Performance line," said Dr. Chuck Stiggins, CSCCa executive director, who served as strength and conditioning coach for Brigham Young University for 25 years.

Nautilus dials up a breakthrough in commercial strength training with the introduction of Nautilus One™. The new strength circuit features a patented new resistance engine and enhanced biomechanical design to help club members achieve results quickly and without intimidation. Clinical tests on the abdominal machine were done by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. They revealed the Nautilus One abdominal machine generated 44 percent more muscle activation than its closest competitor.

The company receives top global fitness honors for its commercial strength equipment. Nautilus is awarded the 2006 Best Global Fitness Equipment Manufacturer honor from Fitness Tribune, a Swiss fitness publication that commissioned independent research through the Germany-based Dr. Gottlob Institut to complete a first-ever scientific evaluation on fitness equipment worldwide.

An Indianapolis fireman and entrepreneur Jim Campbell, 48, shattered the world record of steps climbed on a StairMaster® StepMill during a fundraising event. Campbell climbed 106,377 steps or 13.4 vertical miles in a 24-hour period, 60 percent more than the previous record 66,000 steps set earlier in 2006. The feat was the equivalent of a half-marathon vertically, or climbing steps of the Empire State Building more than 56 times, in just 18 hours of stepping.

Nautilus debuts first-ever branded apparel line for fitness training indoors at the IDEA World fitness Convention. Introducing Responsiv Fitness Apparel, the new line of apparel features ultra-high performance fabrics that actively keep sweat at bay, and panels that move with the unique range of motion experienced when working out indoors.

Nautilus broadens its cardio equipment intellectual property with acquisition of patent portfolio surrounding cardiovascular fitness equipment from a Texas equipment inventor. The patent portfolio containing more than 30 individual patents was acquired from fitness inventor Bob Rodgers, regarded as one of the top inventors, especially surrounding elliptical cardiovascular trainers.

Formally introduced were the TreadClimber, elliptical trainers with MyStride technology, and redesigned cordless upright and recumbent exercise bikes. A new line of commercial free weight training equipment was introduced as well as a new Nautilus Studio line of selectorized strength equipment for hotels and apartment complexes.

Thanks to a resistance technology called SpiraFlex®, astronauts aboard the International Space Station are able to work out effectively. This technology is incorporated into the Bowflex Revolution® home gym, a brand new home gym for consumers.

Geoff Weber, a 37-year-old Navy Intelligence Officer, breaks a Guinness World Record running on a new Nautilus® treadmill at the 2005 IDEA World Fitness Convention. Weber shatters the 50 kilometer world record with a time of three hours, 41 minutes and 53 seconds, beating the previous record by nearly three minutes.

Nautilus goes cardio, with the launch of new treadmills, innovative variable stride ellipticals, and the commercial TreadClimber® cardio product. It also continues innovation with a new Ultimate 2 home gym, prepares for launch of its first Bowflex home gym without Power Rod® technology.

Nautilus, Inc. becomes the company's official name after an 18-month process of integrating acquired companies and systems and functioning with "the power of one".

The company reports 2004 net sales of $523.8 million.

The company introduces the fitness industry's first-ever full-color catalog and accompanying website.

The company announces new partnership with The Sports Authority signaling its move into retail. It includes an in-store Bowflex and Schwinn branded pad with the theme "Make Room for Fitness?". Its aim is to help consumers understand options for creating a home fitness area.

The company launches first advertising campaign to support the Nautilus brand in more than a decade.

October 2004

Bowflex becomes a fitness brand (rather than a product) with the expansion to include treadmills, free weights, strength cages, TreadClimber cardio products.

April 2004

The company introduces the new Bowflex Xtreme? 2 and Bowflex Sport? home gyms, reflecting innovation in its home gym lineup.

January 2004

The company tests SelectTech? dumbbells, a new innovation in free weights. Early tests cause initial quantities to sell out. The product is formally launched later in the year.

Nautilus, Inc. was founded as Bowflex of America, Inc., a manufacturer, marketer and distributor of the Bowflex strength training system.

A new company called Nautilus is formed to introduce the concept of selectorized strength equipment. The equipment is designed with Nautilus-shaped cams that apply greater resistance in exercise motions where muscles are strongest.
